Maruti Suzuki Ciaz – All Set For A Grand Launch

Maruti cars are the most popular cars among the Indian car buyers. This is mainly because these cars are economical to buy, high on fuel-efficiency and low on maintenance, very easy to handle and they come with better after sales service networks. Although Maruti is generally known for making cars for the masses, every now and then they come up with some premium cars as well. However, the maker of mass cars is a tag that the car maker has not been able to shake off, as most of its top segment cars have fared poorly in the Indian market. The general perception is that Maruti is an excellent small car manufacturer and not so good at making big, luxurious and premium looking cars.

However, Maruti is looking to shatter that barrier through its upcoming launch – Ciaz. This will be a sedan, which will replace the underperforming SX4 in the Indian market. All those who had a look at this beast at the Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year, agrees that Maruti might have managed to get things together this time. With its stylish looks and refreshing design language, the Ciaz definitely looks like a winner.

On the exterior, the Ciaz exudes beauty and style with its curves and creases that gives a contemporary look to the car. Unlike many other Maruti cars, the Ciaz looks elegant and would appeal to the young and old alike. Learning from its earlier mistakes, Maruti will pack the interiors of the Ciaz with more comfort, luxury, safety and entertainment features, which will put it at par with the rivals like Hyundai Verna.

This mighty sedan will be powered by a 1.4-litre, 95 PS, 130 Nm K-Series petrol engine, or a 1.3-litre, 90 PS, 200 Nm Multijet diesel engine. Both these power mills have proved their capability in the sibling of Ciaz, Ertiga. The Ciaz will come with a five-Speed manual transmission gearbox and it could also be offered in the AMT variant. The latest reports doing round in the auto industry has suggested that the Ciaz is offering a best-in-class mileage of more than 26 kmpl (ARAI certified).

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is expected price is INR 750000/- to 1100000/-, which is highly competitive in the present times. Once launched, it will take on the industry leaders like Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Nissan Sunny and Volkswagen Vento among others.

And the makers, Maruti Suzuki, is readying the Ciaz not only for the Indian market, but also for the emerging Asian markets, Once ready for a commercial debut, the Ciaz sedan will not be restricted to the Indian market, but will also create it’s base in other emerging Asian markets, including China.
