A List Of 2014 Upcoming Festivals In Kiama

Events and festivities are always happening all around Kiama with either one of its townships having one or two major celebrations every month throughout the year. Festivals in Kiama are full of fun and excitements with each giving the residents and visitors alike a reason to celebrate. From antique fairs, anniversary celebrations, car rallies, water sport contents, art shows or square dance conventions there is always an event for you to attend and be a part of the celebrations.

Earlier this year saw the annual world’s largest one day sevens’ competition the Kiama Rugby Sevens happening in the last Saturday in February. Kiama Agricultural Show was also held at the end of January and was such a huge success.

March

This March sees a lot of functions happening in and around Kiama. Music lovers will dance and listen to classical music presented by some talented musicians at the Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival happening in early March.

Movie lovers on the other hand have a night to enjoy at the CMRI Fundraiser Movie Night “The Monuments Men” at the Shellharbour Greater Union on Friday, March 14 from 6:30 pm onwards. Entry is $20 per person with proceeds going to charity.

Illawarra Classic Motor Cycle Club 18th Annual Red Scarf Rally is happening on 15th & 16th at the Black Beach (Kiama Harbor). Entry is free for all. If you are a motorcycle enthusiast then this is the event you don’t want to miss!

April

The internationally acclaimed New York Times bestselling author Jim Butcher is touching down in Australia for the 1st time and will make a stop in Kiama on Tuesday 8th April at Kiama Library, 7th railway parade, Kiama. For just $10 come mingle with this star and get inspired on your writing projects

Photography Exhibition ‘Old Fire Station’ Kiama is also happening this April on Wednesday 9th – Monday 14th. At Old Fire Station, Cnr Terralong & Shoalhaven Streets, Kiama come browse through Chinese art crafts, discover new products and sample their photography.

Jamberoo Celebrates’ Fredericks IGA Grand Opening is a great place to take your kids for entertainment. Activities include: face painting, sausage sizzle, cow milking, local music, fairy floss and much more. This event is happening on Saturday 12th April from 9:30am – 1:30pm at Jamberoo Town Center.

May 4th sees Wings Over Illawarra Airshow happening all day long Illawarra Regional Airport. This is one of the major festivals in Kiama that sees family spend fun times watching different activities and displays like aerobatics, freestyle motor cross display, different types of aircrafts, classic cars and vintage bikes, amusement rides among other activities. Lastly on March 15th come celebrate the life of Johnny Warren and support Johnny Warren Football Foundation meet up with football fanatics, golf enthusiasts and former soccer players while you enjoy some golfing and lunch. Event starts at 8am.
