CIJ printer – A Commonly Used Printing Technology For Small Business Houses

Inkjet printing is regarded as one of the best methods for coding and non contract printing. In fact, this printing technology is commercially used for coding and marking of various products and packages. By following a non contract process, CIJ printers are now the most durable and versatile option for product manufacturers.

CIJ printers are available in two versions – one is small character printer and another is large character printer. Small character CIJ printing technology allows codes to be printed on variety of products and packages, lines and direction at a throughout speed of more than 1000 feet/ minute. A small character inkjet printer can create a lot of codes, expiration dates, graphics and bar codes on wide range of products and primary packaging. The best part of this printer is that it is portable and can easily be stimulated from line to line as per requirement.

How do CIJ Printers Work?

In CIJ printing technology, ink flows constantly through the system but merely prints when it gets signal to do so. Ink is pressed through the system by air pressure, generated from an ink tube to the print head. After that, the pressurized ink enters the nozzle where the tube storing the ink passes through a stoneware ring. The pulses of electricity are passed to this ring with the help of control board. The quick squeeze feature of the ring creates a wave in the action of the ink to break it into droplets soon after it passes through the nozzle opening and enters the charge tunnel.

The vertical placement of ink drop is controlled by the printer and the horizontal placement is resolute by the faction of the facade to be printed. Letterings are created in dot matrix design with multiple dots creating one distinct character. The supply motion of the printing system is used to scatter the letters and numbers one after another onto the product. While some sort of evaporation of solvent ink occurs during the printing process, the thickness of ink is regulated by an automated control system. The ink is kept at proper consistency for ensuring effortless flow through the printer to get clean and snappy images.

Inkjet printer has been first introduced in the year 1976.  By the year 1988, inkjet printers have become more consumer item and many new versions of it has been launched since then. Today, printing bulk of pages is just a task of few minutes with these printing machines. People can have printers for their homes to get printouts instantly for submitting projects of their young ones. Printing of photos, images have been made faster and cheap with this printing machine.

Key Features of CIJ Printer:

. CIJ printer can print on almost any type of material at highest speed, side on or from underneath and in any orientation.

. Good printing tolerance even when the surface is not flat or still and it is 10 mm or more away from the print head.

. Low capital cost

. A huge range of inks are available including low taint, low evaporation along with a wide scale of colours.

Continuous inkjet printers are mainly used for printing variable information on products such as times, dates, batch codes, specific dates, product name and logos. For providing traceability of data and complying with strict industry legislation, this printer serves an important role. This ink system has no gear pump and thus there is no requirement of factory air. This helps in maintaining the ink quality and gives long intervals between maintenance periods. Depending on the varied requirements of each industry, most of the CIJ printers can be fitted with different types of inks, including solvent based inks with alcohols for faster dry times.
